Description
Your guide will meet you at the cruise port (directly outside of cruise port gate) and by private car/bus you will be taken to Upper Old Town to see Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and St. Olav’s Church,as well as the Houses of Parliament and the beautiful panoramic views from the top of Toompea Hill.
The romantic cobblestone streets, charming red roofs, and quaint but well-tended houses in the old city center are considered the best-preserved old town in Northern Europe. The Lower Old Town with its marketplace harkens back to times long gone, but it is still bustling with bargain hunters among the variety of stalls selling a wide variety of products. Your tour guide will give you the inside scoop for finding the most authentic souvenirs. We have also set aside some free time for you to take a shopping break in the wonderful Master's Courtyard and/or St. Catherines Passage where you can experience the skills of the master craftsmen and local artisans.
The highlights of the Old Town walk include the fortified Town Wall with many towers, the Town Hall, and one of the oldest continuously functioning pharmacies in the world. Our professional, friendly, and knowledgable guides can have a vast area of expertise – feel free to ask them about everyday life and anecdotes about Tallinn and Estonia.
The second part of the tour will bring us outside of the city center and enable a broader view of Tallinn. On the scenic drive, you will encounter breathtaking nature and amazingly beautiful vistas by the Pirita-Kadriorg seaside. A highlight is the Kadriorg Art Museum and gardens, built by Peter the Great in the baroque style for his wife Catherine I, along with the Presidential Palace, the modern design of the KUMU Estonian Art Museum, the Song Festival Grounds, and St Bridget’s Convent Ruins, and finally the Olympic Village.
The tour ends with our guide bringing you back to the port where you can comfortably reboard your ship with a host of new memories.
